Aragog

Sketch daily theme was spiders, so I used Aragog as the model is set up at the London Studio Tour and spent 25 minutes making this digital painting.

Beauty Smith

I don’t know how many of you have read the book White Fang, but recently I was given the character Beauty Smith as a digital painting prompt. The character is super ugly, so I used his description (yeah, apparently Beauty is a man’s name) and gave some of his attributes to a fox. It was a lot of fun to make and gave me a unique challenge. I also used the “Mona Lisa” as my inspiration for the background, which was an entertaining art history connection to incorporate.

Digital Shadow Box

For the last several days I have been working on an assignment to make a digital shadow box with the theme “Mermaid.” It was a strangely time consuming project but I am very happy with the results, especially because I got to use another Harry Potter reference for my inspiration, which in this case was the Mermaid painting in the Prefect’s Bathroom.

Nailed it!

Today I was asked to make a cartoon drawing of a guy for his YouTube channel. It was fun to make and didn’t take a long time to work on. It felt amazing to get positive feedback from him. I love art.7htQaoz draw him

Graphic Novel Page

I’ve been working on a graphic novel page for that last couple days for one of my classes. We had to use a quote from the original book Wizard Of Oz and make it look like it has been drawn with charcoal. My quote was “I shall take the heart, for brains do not make one happy, and happiness is the best thing in the world.” I had a good time making it.

Dragons

I’ve never been good at drawing dragons, just because it is hard to find references to draw from. So today I decided to look at the dragon from the cover of Deathly Hallows and work at its gesture and overall shapes. Hopefully by doing this study I can improve my skills at designing my own dragons. Here it is without any background

And here it is with a background more filled in.
