Digital Shadow Box

For the last several days I have been working on an assignment to make a digital shadow box with the theme “Mermaid.” It was a strangely time consuming project but I am very happy with the results, especially because I got to use another Harry Potter reference for my inspiration, which in this case was the Mermaid painting in the Prefect’s Bathroom.

Nailed it!

Today I was asked to make a cartoon drawing of a guy for his YouTube channel. It was fun to make and didn’t take a long time to work on. It felt amazing to get positive feedback from him. I love art.7htQaoz draw him

Graphic Novel Page

I’ve been working on a graphic novel page for that last couple days for one of my classes. We had to use a quote from the original book Wizard Of Oz and make it look like it has been drawn with charcoal. My quote was “I shall take the heart, for brains do not make one happy, and happiness is the best thing in the world.” I had a good time making it.

New Photoshop Brushes

I spent a couple hours yesterday looking for new photoshop brushes and found a bunch that I love. Here are a couple of the digital paintings I made while playing with them

Illustration Friday’s Topic was “old” I had a good time making this. I think I’ll continue to tweak it in time.

A Look Back

Nutcracker

I made this on illustrator during my first ever computer class in college. It is interesting watching how my art has changed over the last 5 years.

Sketch Daily

Finally today I got around to doing a sketch daily. The theme was board games, and I had a good time playing around with it. My first thoughts were of playing Sorry with my siblings when I was a kid, so I decided to digitally paint this.

Illustration Friday

The theme this week was “work” so I made a time punch clock and tried to make it look like stained glass. It was really fun. I hope to keep doing these illustrations as time goes on.

Another Dog I Made

As I’m sure you gathered from the title, this is another example of the dogs I made for the book. Like before, I posted it next to the original photo I used as a template. As you will notice I did not do all the colors of the original dog, this was because the book was about a specific border collie so I needed the colors to match my other illustrations rather than the photo. I did not take the original photo, I just made the illustration, and I made the frisbee just for fun.
